Images are supplied up to 1200 DPI (PSD, TIFF, JPG). They are scanned using Digital ICE technology or copy photographed to provide the clearest image possible.

1859 Daguerreotype
This image has been colorized using PhotoShop. The image came with a large swath of material from the girl's blue dress. The women's jacket and dress color were arbitrarily chosen. This is a large (1/4 plate) daguerreotype in excellent condition with confirmed date of 1859. The uncolorized version can be seen in the 1850s gallery.
