Painted Images

There are a variety of reasons to turn a photo into a sketch.

It can turn a flat, bland image into unique & attractive artwork.
It may bring out the main content versus background noise.
It usually prints more crisp on a home or professional printer.
They make wonderful framed print, greeting and note cards

Variety of Paint Schemes

You can give a flat, bland photograph an exceptional look, corresponding to the era and to your liking. AI allows you to "paint" an image in whatever style you like. Example paint scheme include:

Masters - Specify a specific 'old master' who's style you admire and will fit the picture.
General styles - Different eras embraced various looks. Use one you like, examples include Renaissance, Baroque, and Romanticism; though some may be too dramatic.
Tinting and lighting – Colorize a B&W photo, or emulate a look you've seen and liked, or be creative.

The "do not change scene" statment needed to be added as the first version did not say this and Gemii put them in a period-correct room. with a fireplace sitting in overstuffed chairs. It was a great image, but not what was requested.

The 'do not change faces' statement was needed as the first attempt changed the people. This is truly a magnificent rendition. The only change it made was a typical Gothic element by Wood, the window in the building in the background. Trivia: The woman with the camera, too the picture of the boys with their guns in an open field, above. She was this author's grandmother.

This photograph was only 3.25" x 2.5", but was scanned at 1,200 DPI to present enough detail to the AI program for it to work with. AI in Photoshop also extended the photo to the left (producing a complete barn) to create a a fuller picture.
